Spotlight on 24/7
One of the coolest things going on at VALLEY is our 24/7 Youth Ministry. Each month Jr & Sr High School students get together for hang out times, fun events, and discipleship & personal development. Two of my own kids are a part of 24/7, and as a parent, I'm thrilled about the impact it is making for them.
The 24/7 Leadership Team does an outstanding job relating to, teaching and leading the students. What a privilege to have these people as Godly influencers in the lives of our kids!
There are some great things planned over the next month or so for the teenagers. From 24/7 DEEPER this Sunday afternoon (November 23), to the 24/7 Christmas Party (December 7), to Snow Tubing in January ... Its going to be awesome.
Parents, don't miss out on the opportunity to have your teenagers involved in a group that can make such a positive difference in their lives. Check out the 24/7 websitefor details and calendar information.

Focus On The Future
I just spent the last three hours planning out the message series strategy with staff for the next 13 months. It is hard to put into words the excitement and anticipation we feel as we consider what God will continue to do in and through VALLEY over the next year or so. From taking a look at temptation, to life in the home, to the final week of Jesus' life, to discovering the rhino in us, 2009 is going to be another incredible year for VALLEY.
Every year, when we strategically plan the messages for the coming year, we always look forward with some fear and trepidation. And every year, as we ask God to give us the 'Big Picture' for VALLEY, he always comes through and things always work out better than we could have possible imagined. It always ends up being real 1 Corinthians 2:9 kind of stuff. I can hardly wait!

Monday Musings 11/17
- God is really doing something special in and through the VALLEY family. I keep thinking about the 'feel' and atmosphere in our gatherings yesterday as well as the incredible transformation that God is doing in people's lives literally before our eyes. I don't remember anything like it in the 18 years I've been a pastor. WOW! What an awesome God!!
- Yesterday we concluded our, "You Don't Have What It Takes" series with, "You Can't Control The Future". It was a very timely message given all of the uncertainty that we are all facing on a daily basis. The tech crew told me there has been numerous requests made for the whole series of messages. Many people have told me they are actually getting them to give as gifts for Christmas. Don't forget you can download our podcast for free through iTunes.
- One of the amazing things that God is doing through VALLEY is reaching every age group and ethnicity in our community. I love the fact that there is no 'typical' profile of a VALLEY church attender. As I often say, in a divided society only the church can model unity, and it is happening in VALLEY.
- Also worth mentioning, is the way God is continuing to bless VALLEY through your generosity even during tough financial times. We've even been able to INCREASE our giving as a church during this holiday season when so many have so little! Thanks VALLEY for "walking the walk" in good times and in tough times!!!
- I am REALLY excited about this weekend. Not only is it our big Operation Christmas Child collection Sunday, but also my Pastor, Dr. Ron Cottle, will be with us and will be speaking at both our 9am & 11am gatherings. I truly do not know where or who I would be today if it wasn't for Dr. Cottle counsel, covering, help, encouragement, care and wisdom he has given me through the years. It is very true, "pastors need pastors too". Don't miss this incredible opportunity to hear from my 'Spiritual Papa' this Sunday who has made such a huge impact on my life.
- I will also be celebrating my birthday this weekend too, which makes the timing of Dr. Cottle's visit that much more special for me.
- On a different and less significant note: HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!
